If their recent reveals are any indication, Nike has provided the Air Max 95 a wardrobe more than extensive. Alongside an updated version of the “Greedy” colorway, the silhouette will bring back the “Comet” though with a few Japanese-inspired touches. Through its exterior, the offering is quite faithful, adapting the original palette to relatively close spec. The materials, however, are where the pair sets itself apart, each proffering a more natural texture throughout. The toe and side layers, for example, opt for what looks to be canvas, while suede, sheer mesh, and leathers fill in the blanks adjacent. Finally, along the outsole, the Japanese references come to a head thanks to the red-dressed, floral mosaic.

Nike has showed love to Japan with a handful of Air Max 95 during last year’s 25th Anniversary celebration. For 2021, the tradition continues as the brand has revealed another Japanese-themed colorway.

This offering of the Nike Air Max 95 comes dressed in a mix of White and Red with Grey and Black detailing. The shoe is built with a combination of materials with hits of Red highlighting the eyelets, tongue branding, mini Swoosh and Air bubbles. The callout to Japan is spotted on the heels and underfoot midsole plate as well as having popular cherry blossom branches displayed on the insoles.
